Schools who wish to utilize volunteers will send the potential volunteer to this application for processing. Once the application is complete, the School Volunteer Coordinator will log into the system to recommend the applicant.  This will trigger the required Office of Administrative Courts crimal background check for all new volunteers in the district. Once your background check is approved, you will be notified by the school that you can begin to volunteer in the district. 

 

Volunteer Program Description:

Volunteers are persons who do not receive compensation for work in school District programs. .

 

Criminal Records Check:

There shall be a criminal records check performed on all volunteers who:

  1. have contact with students on a scheduled and/or continuing basis, or
  2. have supervisory responsibility for children.

Once a volunteer (defined as working with students on a scheduled and/or continuing basis OR has supervisory responsibilities for children) has a state criminal records check performed and is approved, that volunteer will not have to complete another criminal records check in the future (beginning in fall of 2014).

 

All new volunteers must complete a state criminial records check.
